Tailwind Tribes are new to many as they were just introduced not too long ago! They are a great way to build a community of pinners. Tailwind tribes are essentially a Pinterest board of Pinners instead of by topic. Each member can add their own content to the tribe and other members are able to gather high quality content in one place to add to their Tailwind queue for the next week or the next month. Win-win for everyone!
If you’re unfamiliar with Tailwind, it is simply the best Pinterest scheduling app around. With just a few clicks you can schedule you pins for the next week, month, or entire season! And you can set the interval you would like your pins to be spaced out. Tailwind even suggests optimized time slots based on your own analytics! If you haven’t signed up try it free for 30 days by clicking here! And check out the beginner’s guide to Tailwind here.
**UPDATE: If you do not currently see Tribes in your Tailwind Sidebar it is because it is currently in the Alpha stage. If you want to get started just leave a comment with your email and I will add you to a tribe of mine and you’ll be invited!
Tailwind Tribes Tutorial: Beginner’s Guide
Now that you’ve signed up, it’s time to for your quick start guide to the tailwind tribes feature.
Locate the Tribes in your menu bar
You should see tribes listed in your menu bar on the left-hand side. Click the Tribe menu and you’ll see the the tribes you’ve been invited to join listed in a dropdown menu. Otherwise you can click ‘Create New Tribe’ and start your own!
Fill in your Tribe Information
You’ll be asked for your Tribe name, description, Tribe rules, and category. Think carefully about the purpose of your tailwind tribe and what you want everyone to get out of it. For example do you want tribe members to be pinning 3 other pins for every pin they add to the tribe? Do you want them to check back weekly to fill up their queue? If you don’t ask you won’t get. Clear rules benefit everyone involved.
Once your tailwind tribe is set up, it’s time to invite others to join you! Gather up your friends on tailwind and begin building your new tribe! First click the +Invite New Member button on the left-hand side of your Tribe screen.
You will see this screen where you can invite your people using their email addresses. You can also click to add another Tribe Admin if you wish to allow another member to invite friends of their own and run the tribe with you. Only Tribe Admins are able to invite other members to the tribe.
Add Content to your Tailwind Tribe!
Once your invitations are sent it’s time to start adding content! Log into Pinterest. Find content to schedule as you normally would and this time instead of clicking ‘Add to Queue Now’ you’re going to click the grey ‘Add to Tribes’ button.
This window will pop up and you can click on one or more tribes to add content to. Just hold down the control button and click each tribe to add to multiple tribes at once! Click ‘Add to Tribe’ and it will automatically populate to all selected tribes!
Share the Love!
Once you’ve added your content to the tribes, you’ll can view the content of each tribe by clicking the drop down menu beside ‘Your Tribes.’ Don’t be the one to drop your links and run! Use the content in each of your tribes to fill up your queue! Help our your friends and they will be sure to return the favor!
All you have to do is click the green “Add to Queue button!” It’s so much easier than how you typically schedule. One click and it’s scheduled. You can also see which ones you have previously clicked because it will have a green banner that says “Published” on the top left corner. And the blue rectangle in the same space shows how many times that pin has been repinned so you can be sure to add the most popular content to your own queue! It’s just that easy!
