Teaching Kids to be Curious

in education, parenting, review on 07/12/15

As you know by now, I love my subscription boxes. The Curiosity Box is a stand out for several reasons. As a teacher, I am constantly on the hunt for activities that encourage my four year old to be creative, curious, and innovative. This box strikes just the right balance between education and fun.

C is absolutely obsessed with superheros at the moment. When I heard this was the theme for the month I had to contain my inner happy dance (I have an image to uphold don’t you know).

The whole box is filled with games and activities that will last you several days if you like! Though holding them back might be a bigger challenge!

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by a vendor I have chosen to work with. I have received either paid compensation and/or free product in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own based only on my own experience.
A Peak Inside…
1. Superhero mask and cuff: For your inner superhero. My son loved rubbing glitter all over and adorning it with jewels!
2. Decorate your own superhero box: A great place to keep your crafts, outside treasures, notes and cards, or anything else you like!
3. Superhero Game: This was a lot of fun! Roll the die and move the superhero characters according to the legend on the game board. Great for teaching math alongside the art!
4. Parenting Magazines: Two magazines by Parents Canada
What to expect:
Each box contains 3 crafts, 1 activity, stickers, and a Curiosity Card with activity suggestions, fun facts and more!
Price:   $28.95-$31.95 depending on the box you choose!
Current Themes: Just a few of all the boxes available!
Goodnight Fairy, Dinosaur Times, Explore Space, Discover Nature and Bugs, At the Zoo, I Can Read
Overall Rating: ****
For the price and experience these boxes really can’t be beat! I will definitely be ordering these again! And what a great gift idea for any little ones on your list! I’m excited to try the other science and literacy ones as well!

Parents yearn for 15-20 minutes of independent playtime for their children. When mommy can sit down and enjoy an entire cup of hot (!) coffee in uninterrupted bliss, it really is a small miracle. I’m always on the hunt for unique toys that actually capture my little guy’s attention for longer than 5 minutes before he’s moved onto the next thing…

My Secret Subscription Box Obsession: A Frock Box Review

When I first saw the little purple package lying on the office desk, I literally leaped for joy. It was a typical involuntary action that creeps up whenever I get something exciting in the mail (my husband regarded me strangely and went back to work…). This was the first actual delivery I’ve received from a subscription service so I could barely contain myself!

I've never heard of this box subscription but with a little boy at home who is always into something, you know… being curious, this just might be something he would enjoy.
