I am a perfectionist. There I said it…
This is not how I ever would’ve described myself ‘pre-baby’ but as I’ve learned since I had my beautiful baby boy – I am! As all of my perfectly laid plans for motherhood came crashing down around me and I surveyed the scene of tears, exhaustion, and unbearable physical pain, I realized that it’s ok to be “good enuf.’ There is no such thing as “doing it all” or the “perfect mom.” Sometimes we’ve just got to work with what we’ve got, celebrating our strengths and forgiving ourselves daily for our fumblings.
I hope you leave this little piece of cyber space feeling confident in your own parenting decisions and with a sense that you’re not alone. At one time or another we all feel not good enough. I believe that’s a sign of how much we love our children and desire to give them the best life we can.
Thanks for stopping by!
